We are deeply rooted in the Scandinavian architectural tradition. Architecture that puts people first. An interplay between light, context, functionality and aesthetics.
A knowledge of people’s desires, dreams and needs which can be transformed into settings for life and communities. For homes, schools, day care centres, workplaces, landscapes and urban spaces.
We do not do this based on our architectural heritage alone. We base our work on integrated teamwork between all the technical and aesthetic disciplines in the construction sector.
We work from studios in Copenhagen, Silkeborg, Aarhus, Herning and Odense.

Strategic partnerships
At Sweco Architects, we work to create productive and trusting collaborations in the construction industry. We do this as a co-creator and partner in three strategic partnerships: TRUST in collaboration with the City of Copenhagen, Byggepartnerskabet &os in collaboration with KAB and Byggepartnerskabet LIVA in collaboration with CIVICA.
Partnerships that aim to break with the usual forms of organisation in the construction industry and create trusting collaborations between all parties. Architects, engineers, landscape architects, building designers, specialists and contractors work side by side under these partnerships. This ensures a holistic, effective and constructive approach to the projects based on a single common objective and shared values.
Together for a more sustainable future
As consultants, our responsibility is to contribute to a positive sustainable development in the construction industry. We are therefore actively involved in how our cities and buildings are designed, constructed and used. For example, we work to promote the principles of circular construction and create sustainable communities.
With our long experience in wood construction throughout the Nordic region, we also work to increase awareness of the aesthetic and sustainable potential of wood as a building material.
A diverse and green district based on the history of the area
The 160,000 sqm site, which until 2016 housed Københavns Grønttorv, Copenhagen Markets, is currently being transformed into an attractive, diverse district with clear roots in the unique history of the area.

At Sweco, architects and engineers have worked closely together since 1958, and we therefore stand on the shoulders of many years of experience when we offer our customers integrated design.
